- As usual, this is for fun. Be nice.
- The beer you bring as your entry fee, must be of the type typically known as "Micro-Brewed" or "Craft Brewed" beer. Some examples of non-conforming beer, would be: Budweiser, Bud Light, Coors, Corona, Miller, etc. If you have a question about whether or not a certain beer can be used. Please ask me. There are not many rules to this event, but this rule will be enforced.
- All of the beers used for entry fees will be available for consumption after the event. Any beers that are left over, will become the property of Aaron Sublett. (c'mon, I make the rules)
- Minors will not be allowed to consume alcohol. They may bring their own non-alcoholic beverage to consume after the event, and their entry fee will be a $7 donation to "Trips for Kids of Southern Arizona".
- The event will begin with a mass start, approximately 1 mile down the fenceline from Valencia. This will allow some seperation before everyone hits the singletrack.
- All riders will ride in a counter-clockwise (normal) direction on the Bunny Trail. They will ride out to the "Flag" turn-around point, and then head back towards Valencia.
- No cutting of the course is allowed. (duh). Violators will be disqualified.
-
It is the passing riders responsibility to make a safe pass without tearing up the desert. There are plenty of places to pass, and it is going to be a long day in the saddle, take your time and be nice. That said, there is nothing wrong with the passsed rider being nice and giving some room :)
-
The first rider to complete 20 laps, effectively ends the event. Everyone will then complete their current lap, and stop. You will be scored on your number of laps completed, and your time to complete them.
-
Riders will be timed to the even second. If there is a tie in one of the first three places in a category, the winner will be determined by the game "Rock, Paper, Scissors".
-
This event is being held on a trail open to the public for multiple uses. Please be extremely courteous to ALL trail users. Although you are being timed, yield to all other trail users, pass with care, and allow faster riders to safely pass you.
-
You need a ASLD permit to legally ride at Fantasy Island. Since I'm so nice, I'll give you the link: ASLD Permit Application
-
52 rider limit. Because, it's only a 5 mile loop. You don't want a conga-line, do you? That comes AFTER the race.
